These four volumes have been designed so that they can be used by the widest possible audience. They are aimed both at non-Arabic-speaking beginners who learn in a school or university setting and at self-taught people.

The main features of the first three volumes have been retained. However, some changes have made their appearance:

- All grammar rules are now grouped together at the end of each lesson.

- Each of the rules discussed is completed with a detailed explanation, examples and a standard grammatical analysis of the main ones which will allow the student to learn and understand the automatisms of Arabic grammatical analysis. Those who have the opportunity to study this book with a teacher are asked to do the grammatical analysis of the other examples.

- We have chosen to replace comments with footnotes. Indeed, the commentaries proved to be useful in the first two volumes, because they were essentially composed of exercises without explanations from the author. Which is not the case in the last two books where author's comments are prevalent. We have therefore chosen to keep them and complete them with footnotes in order to follow the major reference works in the field.

The grammatical analysis of most of the examples used in the book has been explained in detail, to master the grammatical concepts covered, the analysis procedures and to identify their usefulness.
