It is a serious disease that has pushed men to be jealous of each other, to fight each other, to kill each other… To love power is to love one's own person and to despise others is to watch over one's own interests to the detriment of those of others.

Islam teaches us virtue and good manners, it shows us how to fight our passions, our illnesses, our inclinations, in the service of ourselves, in the service of others. Islam encourages us to be humble, simple and modest. For the love of power leads to vanity, pride and contempt.
