The Meaning of the Verses of the Holy Qur'ân
This attempt at translation and commentary on the verses of the Holy Quran that Cheikh Boureima Abdou Daouda offers us and which he describes as a humble contribution to the dissemination of Islam is a valuable tool particularly for the French-speaking Islamic Ouma for whom the lack of mastery of Arabic constituted a barrier to the knowledge of the word of God contained in the Holy Book.
Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds “... who sent to illiterate people a Messenger from among them who recites His verses to them, purifies them and teaches them the Book and Wisdom...”. Surah 62 (Friday): verse 2.
This verse highlights the three important functions, namely the Tilawah (recitation) of the Qur'an, the Tazkiyah (purification/reformation) of man and the Ta'lim (teaching) of the meaning of the Qur'an; important functions that the Prophet Muhammad had to fulfill #| who, aware of his role as a model,
follow, said: "The best among you is the one who learned the Qur'an and taught it [to others]."
