Good practices relating to those who retain the Koran - Imam an-Nawawî
God has gratified His Messenger, Muhammad (saw) with the Qur'an, a miracle that extends over time, by challenging all men and jinns [to produce its equivalent], by confusing the lost and the rebels, thanks to his ascendancy, and by making this Book, the spring of the gnostics and clairvoyants.

He guaranteed its conservation, preserving it from any alteration and any accident. It is preserved by the grace and favor of God, as long as day and night succeed each other.
God has allowed skilful and precise people, whom He had chosen, to deal with the sciences it contains, and these have gathered, from the material of each discipline, enough to open the chest of people of certainty (îqân).
This book is a summary of the good practices relating to those who have memorized the Quran and the special qualities of those who have memorized it, as well as those who seek to memorize it.
Indeed, God – glorified and exalted be He! – commands to be of good counsel towards His Book. However, to be of good advice towards His Book, it is in particular to indicate the good practices relating to those which retained the Koran and to those which wish to retain it, and to direct the latter towards these good practices and to draw their attention above.
