The pearls of the Qur'an

Allah described Surah Yûsuf as “the best of stories”, which He revealed in the Qur'ân, the best of all revelations, to the best of all prophets, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. This story was revealed to him to cheer him up at a time when he was experiencing the greatest trials of his life: a difficult period where, after a decade of mockery, rejection and persecution in Makkah, he had just lost his beloved wife Khadîja and her uncle and protector Abû Talib.

Prophet Yûsuf lived thousands of years ago, but time has in no way diminished the relevance of his story and life experiences. It is a story of love, passion, betrayal and forgiveness, and it has something to teach us at every stage of our lives, as it transmits to us divine Wisdom wrapped in unparalleled eloquence. It is, in short, a timeless story that will continue to soothe our souls in times of trial and revive our trust in our Lord.
