Knowledge of the names of Allah is the origin of all sciences, the foundation of faith and the first of obligations. If people know their Lord rightly, they will worship Him perfectly. { The most beautiful names belong to Allah. Call upon Him by these names and leave those who profane His names: they will be rewarded for what they have done. } (al-A'râf: 180)

The Prophet alayhi salat wa salam said: "Surely Allah has ninety-nine names,
one hundred minus one, he who counts them enters paradise”. (Reported by al-Bukhârî and Muslim).
